Compared to traditional drum filters, disc vacuum filters feature vertically arranged filter discs, achieving a filtration area of 20-40 m²/m³ (data source: Mining Machinery Design Manual), making them suitable for space-constrained plants. For example, a 3-meter diameter filter disc assembly can provide over 100 m² of effective filtration area while occupying only 60% of the space required for drum filters.
Continuous Operation, High Processing Capacity
Utilizing multiple filter discs working simultaneously, a single machine can process 5-50 tons/hour (wet basis), reducing the moisture content of the dewatered material to 15%-25%. Taking iron ore tailings processing as an example, a certain model of disc filter (such as the TT-45) can process 30 tons of slurry per hour, more than three times more efficient than plate and frame filter presses.
High Degree of Automation
Equipped with a PLC control system, it can automatically unload, clean the filter cloth, and adjust the vacuum level. Some newer models (such as the Finnish Outotec Larox PF) also integrate AI algorithms to optimize rotational speed (typically 0.5-3 r/min) and vacuum pressure (-0.04 to -0.06 MPa) in real time, reducing human intervention.
